Patriot Guard Riders

I just recieved this at 12:06pm from the funeral home:
 

The funeral service for Spc Blaine Redding will be 10:30 AM, Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 520 S. 18th St., Plattsmouth, NE 68048. Visitations will be 1-9 PM, with family receiving relatives and friends from 6-8 PM, Monday, June 21, 2010 at Roby Funeral Home, 346 Ave. A, Plattsmouth, NE 68048. The family requests, that everyone wear their flip flops in memory of Blaine, as he was a very casual dresser and a flip flop kind of guy, and also the family requests, in lieu of flowers memorials to the Family.

 

Also, Blaine is 22 years old; he would not have turned 23 until his birthday in September

Veteran’s Memorial Park Dedication

Sgt Joshua Ford, US Army, KIA Numeniyah, Iraq,  31 JULY 2006, 

 

 

Gold Star Dad Lonnie Ford, , has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to attend a Veteran’s Memorial Park Dedication in memory of his Son and our Hero Joshua Ford, 9-27-1985 to 7-31-2006 and in honor of all Veterans. The dedication will be in Pender Nebraska on Friday June 25, 2010. Lonnie will meet the PGR in West Point and lead us to the dedication in Pender.

1013th WELCOME HOME from IRAQ

 

 

The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to participate in the joyous WELCOME HOME of the Army Reserve 1013th Quartermaster Company, on Friday June 19th, 2010 in North Platte Nebraska. We will meet our Heroes at Loves Truck Stop on I-80 and escort them into the downtown area amidst the annual Nebraskaland Days Celebration. There will be a short Welcome Home ceremony downtown at Parkade Plaza.

 

 

STAGE DATE:                        Friday, June 18, 2010

STAGE TIME:             11am

Spc Blaine E. Redding, 22, KIA, U.S. Army

The Family of Army Spc Blaine Redding has requested the Patriot Guard Riders participate in his Final Journey Home.

 Blaine E. Redding, 22, was killed by a roadside bomb just a few weeks into his tour of duty. The incident happened near Kandahar, Afghanistan. Blaine’s brother, Spc Logan Redding, is also serving in Afghanistan.

 Blaine and Nikki Redding were married just ten weeks ago.

Spc Redding was among five soldiers killed when their vehicle struck a roadside bomb on June 7. They were assigned to Company A, 2nd Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division.

Redding was an indirect fire infantryman who joined the Army in September 2007. Blaine was awarded several military awards and decorations during his military service.

The funeral service for Spc Blaine Redding will be 10:30 AM, Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 520 S. 18th St., Plattsmouth, NE 68048.

We will stand a flag line beginning 45 minutes prior to the 0900 ceremony.

SPC Edwin “Eddie” Wood, 18                     UPDATE:  July 13, 2010 - Pfc. Wood was posthumously promoted to specialist.                                                       

The Family of American Hero SPC Eddie Wood has requested the Patriot Guard Riders participate in his final journey home on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 and at his funeral service on Saturday morning, July 14th, 2010 in Omaha, Nebraska

SPC Edwin C. Wood, U.S. Army, died July 5 in Kandahar, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked their vehicle with an improvised explosive device.  He was assigned to 1st Squadron, 71st Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), Fort Drum, N.Y.

THIS IS A TWO PART MISSION:  Part one is the Flag line at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 14. Part 2 is the Flag line at the Church and cemetery and the escort to the cemetery on Saturday, July 17th, 2010

Short Notice – Send Off – Scottsbluff, NE, July 23, 2010

PATRIOT GUARD MISSION - EVERYONE WELCOME

 

The Patriot Guard Riders are honored to be invited to participate in a send off for approximately 400 Marines that have been training in Guernsey, Wyoming. If possible, please join us in recognizing these heroes for their efforts on our behalf. If interested in participating in the escort, the flag lines, or both, please note the details for each below.
 

Escort Details

 

Staging Date:                            Friday, July 23, 2010

 

Staging location:            Scottsbluff Wal-Mart Parking Lot

 

Staging Time:                 6:15AM                 

 

Riders Meeting:                   6:45 AM

 

Clutches Out: Buses are expected to arrive between 7:00 AM and 7:30 AM. Scottsbluff Police Department will stop traffic on highway 26 and allow riders to lead the bus through Scottsbluff to the airport. Flag lines will be formed for two departures.



Flag Line Details

 

Flags will be waiting at the airport. A flag lines will assemble prior to each flight. A riders meeting will be held 15 minutes prior to assembly time in order to review assembly instructions.

 

Flag Line for 10:00 AM flight will assemble at approximately 9:00 AM and remain in place until all Marines have boarded the plane.

 

Flag Line for 1:30 PM flight will assemble at approximately 12:30 PM and remain in place until all Marines have boarded the plane.

Spc Raymond A. Heuck, 21, Nebraska Army National Guard

 

The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited by the family to participate in the funeral service for Spc Heuck on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at the United Methodist Church in Cozad Nebraska.

 

Spc Raymond Heuck was killed in an automobile accident on Wednesday three days before he was scheduled to deploy with the 134th Cavalry Squadron , Reconnaissance and Surveillance, assigned to the 67th Battlefield Surveillance Brigade last Saturday at Saltdogs Stadium Haymarket Park in Lincoln Nebraska .

NEBRASKA VETERANS MEMORIALIZED

 

The Patriot Guard Riders are honored to be asked to participate as the first Nebraska Veterans Cemetery is dedicated on Friday, August 13 in Box Butte County near Alliance. It is the intent of the Nebraska Department of Veterans Affairs and the State of Nebraska to provide a final resting place for our Heroes. The sacrifice of our Veterans will be memorialized in a place of dignity, tranquility and honor.

 

STAGE DATE:                                    Friday, August 13, 2010

 

STAGE LOCATION:                          Terry’s Corner,  Third St & Hwy 385, Alliance NE

 

STAGE TIME:                         8:45AM

Riders able to help set up the flags are asked to meet at the cemetery Friday morning at 6am. The Cemetery is located 2 miles east and 1 mile South of Alliance.

 

 

PUBLIC INVITED

Thousands of people are expected to turn out for Friday's dedication, which will feature a speech from Gov. Dave Heineman, a community picnic, a dance and airplane rides.

 

9 a.m. to 5 p.m. — self-guided tours of the cemetery

11 a.m. to noon — dedication ceremony - Gov. Dave Heineman and other dignitaries

1 to 8 p.m. — Veterans Service Outreach at American Legion, bring DD214

2 p.m. — P-51 Mustang Rides

7:30 to 11:30 p.m. — Hangar Dance at Heartland Aviation Hangar

Dusk — Jaycees fireworks tribute to the cemetery at Alliance Airport

PGR-ALR Biker Victims Honor Ceremony and Benefit

 

Military Veteran Motorcycle Crash Victims Family Benefit

 

The Patriot Guard Riders have been asked to participate in a benefit for the families of the Motorcyclists that were killed in the tragic and senseless accident on I-29 last Monday.  The event being planned by the American Legion Riders from AL Post 141 will be held at the Mid America Motorplex at Pacific Junction  Iowa this Saturday, August 14th, at 6:30pm. Doors open 5:30pm.

 

Starting at 6:30 there will be a Dedication, the National Anthem, Presentation of the Colors and a moment of silence. Admission is $5.00 and 100% will be given to the families.

 

Three of the Riders were American Legion Riders from American Legion Post 141 in Glenwood Iowa and all of the Riders have supported PGR Missions Honoring our Warriors.

WWII Army Veteran Margaret Trussell, 92

 

Our Friend and Brother Vietnam Veteran Bill Henry, Past President of the Vietnam Veterans of America, Omaha Chapter, has request the Patriot Guard Riders provide an escort for his mother Margaret Trussell on her final journey home. Mrs. Trussell, a World War II Army Veteran, passed away Saturday morning. She was 92 years old.

 

We will proudly escort Bill’s mother with honor and dignity to her final resting place at Westlawn-Hillcrest, Cemetery on Tuesday morning August 24, 2010.

Staff Sgt Michael A. Bock, 26, Omaha Nebraska, U.S Marine

 

The Family of American Hero Staff Sergeant Michael Bock has requested the Patriot Guard Riders participate in his final journey home.

 

The Defense Department announced SSGT Bock a U.S. Marine died August 13, 2010 while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. He was assigned to the 3rd Combat Engineer Battalion, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, based at Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, California.

 

Bock, 26, from Omaha, Nebraska, was killed in action of small-arms fire while on foot patrol in Helmand province. He was on his second Afghanistan deployment, after two deployments to Iraq.

The PGR will be standing a Flag line at the Funeral Home on Tuesday August 24 when our Hero comes home and during visitation on Friday evening. The escort from Offutt will be lead by the U.S. Marines in the ALR. Specific times are still pending. We will also have a small detail escort the funeral coach to the church Saturday Morning.
